About the project

Project overview

RejuvBox is an e-commerce storefront for an Australian research peptide brand, built on Next.js with a headless CMS. Customers browse the catalog, add products to a persistent cart and place orders, while members unlock curated bundles with an access code. The client manages products, orders, discount codes, newsletters and site content from a custom admin dashboard without developer help. The site was built design-first from Figma, then moved from mock data onto a real PostgreSQL backend without changing the storefront components.

The challenge

The Content Control & Gated Access Gap in Niche E-commerce

The brand needed a storefront it could run itself, in a product category where wording and access both have to be controlled. Key challenges included:

  • Product copy, compliance disclaimers and badges had to be editable per product by the client instead of hardcoded.

  • Members-only bundles needed real server-side gating, not a client-side screen that could be bypassed.

  • The backend had to replace a mock-data frontend without rewriting the pages already approved by the client.

The solution

A Headless Commerce Build the Client Controls

The storefront was built on a single data layer so the backend could be swapped in behind it. Key features include:

  1. 01

    CMS-Driven Catalog

Products, galleries, content sections, badges and cross-sells are modeled in Payload CMS and served through one typed data layer the storefront reads from.

  2. 02

    Cart, Checkout & Orders

A persistent cart with discount codes, order notes and gift wrap leads into a checkout that creates orders, line items and addresses, with emailed confirmations.

  3. 03

    Member Access & Admin Dashboard

Server-side access-code gating protects member collections, and a custom dashboard covers orders, customers, contact submissions and newsletters.
