Project overview
Hermoso connects customers, salon owners and the platform team in one marketplace. Customers find salons, book services, staff and time slots, and pay online or at the salon. Their main tool is an AI face scan, calibrated for South Asian skin, that returns a readable treatment plan, an eyebrow assessment and a diet plan, then matches them to salons that offer those treatments. Salon owners run services, event packages, staff, a POS, bookings and revenue from a web dashboard and the Hermoso Business app. Super admins approve salons, set commission rates, moderate reviews and release payouts. A shared ledger tracks every part payment, commission and refund down to the paisa.

The challenge
Generic Beauty Apps and Manual Salon Operations
Salons in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad ran on phone calls and paper diaries, and customers had no trusted way to know which treatment they actually needed. Key challenges included:
Existing skin-scan tools returned generic percentages that were not calibrated for South Asian skin and did not lead to a booking.
Salon owners tracked bookings, walk-in sales, staff shifts and cash by hand, with no view of what they were owed.
A multi-salon marketplace needed exact commission, part-payment, payout and refund accounting across online and cash payments.

One Booking Platform Across Web, Android and iOS
A single Express and MongoDB API powers a role-based web app and native customer and business apps, with AI analysis and financial controls built in. Key features include:

Analyses a selfie with vision models through OpenRouter, returns treatment, eyebrow and diet recommendations in plain language, tracks progress across scans and matches customers to salons offering the recommended services.

Salon Operations Suite
Gives owners services, event and bridal packages, staff with shifts, a point-of-sale for walk-ins, a booking calendar, customer CRM and revenue reports, on the web and in the Hermoso Business app.

Commission, Payouts & Governance
Lets admins approve salons, set commission tiers, moderate reviews and release payouts, while a paisa-accurate ledger handles Safepay and cash part payments, deductions, refunds and fraud checks.
