Project overview
Malhaar Dance Company is a public website and studio management system for an Indian classical dance school in the Chicago area. Parents register dancers through an online form, and the studio owner reviews each request, enrolls students into classes and generates monthly bills in one click. The billing engine applies sibling and multi-class discounts automatically, tracks payments and balances per family, and feeds an income and expense dashboard. It replaced a no-code setup that had become unreliable as the studio grew.

The challenge
The No-Code Limits in Studio Billing & Administration
The studio's earlier no-code workflow could no longer be trusted to bill every student correctly each month. Key challenges included:
Linked records and automations failed silently, so there was no guarantee each active student received exactly one bill per month.
Sibling and multi-class discounts were worked out by hand, which caused errors and repeated corrections.
Registration, enrollment, payments and finances lived in separate places with no single view of the studio.
The solution
A Purpose-Built Studio Management Platform
A custom platform was built so that every recurring task is either scheduled or a single click, backed by tests on the billing math. Key features include:

Automated Monthly Billing Engine
Generates one bill per active student each month with sibling and multi-class discounts, class fee overrides, billing pauses and manual adjustments, covered by unit and end-to-end tests.

Registration-to-Enrollment Workflow
A public registration form feeds a review queue where the owner matches requests to families, students and classes without retyping anything.

Financial Dashboard & Parent Notifications
Tracks payments, expenses and other income with monthly and yearly profit reports, and sends bill and reminder notices to parents by email and WhatsApp.
