About the project
Project overview
Ed-Cred is a comprehensive educational review and feedback platform designed to foster transparency and accountability in the education sector. It enables educators, parents, school staff, and students to share verified experiences and anonymous reviews about teachers, schools, leadership members, and educational institutions. The platform is built to create a safe and trustworthy environment where users can provide honest feedback without fear of exposure. By combining anonymous submissions with verification and moderation mechanisms, Ed-Cred ensures that reviews remain credible while protecting user privacy. It runs as a Next.js web app and a React Native app for iOS and Android, both served by the same NestJS API, so reviews, verification and moderation work the same on every device.

The challenge
The Transparency & Trust Gap in Education
The education sector lacked a centralized platform for transparent feedback and reviews. Challenges included:
Absence of a centralized and structured feedback platform dedicated to the education sector.
Lack of effective accountability and transparency mechanisms for institutions and leadership.
Risk of biased, fake, or unmoderated feedback due to missing verification systems.
Delivering the same secure, anonymous review experience on Android and iOS without a separate codebase for each.
The solution
Delivering a Scalable and Secure Review Platform on Web and Mobile
I built a full-stack platform using Next.js for the frontend and NestJS for the backend, then extended it to iOS and Android with React Native. Key features include:
01
Multi-Category Review System
A structured multicategory review system covering Teachers, Schools, Leadership, Staff, and Districts ensuring organized, scalable, and easy-to-analyze feedback across the education ecosystem.
02
Anonymous Review Submission
A secure anonymous review system that protects user identity while allowing optional verification for credibility ensuring honest feedback while maintaining trust, privacy, and accountability.
03
User Authentication & Authorization
A secure authentication system with registration, login, and role-based access control, ensuring protected access and proper permission management across the platform.
04
Cross-Platform Mobile App
A React Native app built with Expo and NativeWind brings anonymous reviews to Android and iOS, tuned for smooth performance and backed by the same validation, flagging and moderation checks as the web platform.
